The chapter I enjoyed the most this year was the chapter Ancient Greece. The reason why I enjoyed this chapter so much was because I liked all the myths about the Greek gods and goddesses. Also I thought the way they ruled their government very was interesting. One thing that seemed cool was that every four years the Greeks held the Olympics in the city of Olympia. We also do have the Olympics every four years. These are the reasons why I enjoyed the chapter on Ancient Greece.

One thing I learned in this chapter was the rivalry between the Athenians and the Spartans. The citizens of Athens had major responsibilities. They were expected to defend the city in times of conflict and take part in government by serving on juries and participating in political debates on important issues. Sparta was a city that was the complete opposite of Athens. The Spartans lived a strict ruled military life. They invaded neighboring city-states and forced people to become helots of slaves. When Spartan boys turned seven, they were sent to military camps for training in a lifetime army. There was no project we worked on in this chapter.

One new skill I learned was how to create and find the distance between the countries on the maps. I also learned how to about the different myths about gods and goddesses.

The way how I can apply knowledge that I learned to the real world is by telling about all the wars I learned about. Also I could explain things to people. One thing that I had explained to my mom was how the United States got involved with World War II. The things that I learned this year were important and I hope I can use them in my life.

There was no project I worked on.
